Matt Muir is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and commercial director based in Austin, Texas. He is the co-founder and creative lead of the production company Revelator. Matt is known for his diverse body of work including feature films, commercials, branded content, and music videos. An MFA alumni of the graduate film program at the University of Texas at Austin, Matt’s debut feature film, Thank You a Lot, premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and was subsequently distributed by Gravitas Ventures. Matt directs national ad campaigns for brands like Dodge, IBM, and Indian Motorcycle. With a wide range of commercials to his name, he brings a sharp, compelling vision to every project. His music video work, including collaborations with Leon Bridges, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Spoon, and Devendra Banhart, highlights his talent for crafting darkly striking and emotionally resonant visual stories.
