Matt Muir is an Austin-based filmmaker, screenwriter, and commercial director whose work spans narrative film, advertising, and music videos. His directing combines cinematic storytelling with a naturalistic approach to performance, bringing a distinct visual perspective to stories across genres.
Matt is the co-founder and creative lead of Revelator, a production company creating commercial and branded content for clients around the world. He has directed campaigns for brands including Dodge, IBM, and Indian Motorcycle, with work spanning automotive, technology, lifestyle, comedy, and documentary-style storytelling.
A graduate of the MFA film program at the University of Texas at Austin, Matt wrote and directed his debut feature film, Thank You a Lot, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and was distributed by Gravitas Ventures.
His music video collaborations include Leon Bridges, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Hayden Pedigo, Spoon, and Devendra Banhart, exploring atmospheric imagery, character, and emotionally driven storytelling.
